Quiet wooded shrine whose main sanctuary was built in 1730 by the eighth shogun Tokugawa Yoshimune and has survived the Great Kanto Earthquake and the 1945 air raids intact. A roughly 450-year-old giant ginkgo stands on the grounds, still leafing despite being hollowed out by wartime fires.
