About this Tokyo travel map
This is a free interactive map of Tokyo's tourist attractions and neighbourhoods, with 306 places picked by hand. Senso-ji, Meiji Shrine, Shibuya Crossing and Tokyo Skytree are on it, and so are the standing bars and six-seat counters most visitors walk straight past. Filter by category or tag, search by name or neighbourhood, save favourites, and export them to Google Maps as a walking route. Every place links to a full page with the nearest station, cost, and the best time to go.

Plan an itinerary with the map
Tap the heart on any place to save it. Open Saved and you'll get a link, Open saved places in Google Maps, that turns up to ten saved places into walking directions in Google Maps. Every place card also lists what's nearby with walking times, so you can build a day around one area. Set your trip dates and the Events view shows what's on while you're here. Saved places stay in your browser, and there's no account.
Is this Tokyo travel map free to use?
Yes. The map is free, with no account or app download. Saved places and events are stored in your browser, so your shortlist is waiting next time you open it.
How were the places on the map chosen?
All 306 places were hand-picked by Daniel, who splits his time between Tokyo and Montreal. Nothing was added by an algorithm, and the collection is edited constantly.
Can I plan a Tokyo itinerary with the map?
Yes. Every place shows what is nearby with walking times, and any shortlist of saved places can be exported to Google Maps as walking directions, up to ten stops at a time.
Does the map cover day trips outside Tokyo?
Yes. The day trips category covers Kamakura, Nikko, Hakone, Kawagoe, and Mt Takao, each with train access, cost, and how long to allow.
