Keio Takaosan Onsen Gokurakuyu

Keio Takaosan Onsen Gokurakuyu sits right beside Takaosanguchi station, built for hikers coming down off Mt Takao. The natural hot spring comes from about 1,000 metres down and fills outdoor rock baths at two temperatures. Soak, then take the Keio Line straight back to Shinjuku.
Insider tip
Adults pay ¥1,100 on weekdays and ¥1,300 at weekends, holidays and in busy seasons such as the autumn leaves. Tattoos of any size aren't allowed, and covering them with tape or stickers doesn't count. Shampoo and soap are provided, face towels are for sale and bath towels are rented. Cards and Suica are accepted. Open 8am to 10:30pm, last entry 9:45pm.
