Hours are for the main park and the Green Culture Zone opens at 8:30. From April to September the park closes at 18:00 on public holidays too. Closed December 31, January 1 and the third Monday to Friday of January.

Showa Kinen Park is a huge national park of about 180 hectares in western Tokyo, with bikes for hire, lakes, seasonal flower fields and a 300-metre ginkgo avenue. In November the ginkgo tunnels are reason enough to go.

Entry is 450 yen, free for under-15s. Hire a bike at the gate, because the park is too big to walk. Late November for the ginkgo, late March for cherry blossoms over the open lawns.
