The north side's giant hub, with Frank Lloyd Wright and a tram round the corner

Ikebukuro is the north side's answer to Shinjuku. There's a giant station wrapped in department stores, Sunshine City and the anime shops of Otome Road to the east, and a long list of business hotels. Walk ten minutes in any direction, though, and you'll find a Frank Lloyd Wright school, a red-brick campus, an old temple on a tram line and the birthplace of tsukemen.

Ikebukuro has 11 places on the Roam Tokyo map: 2 restaurants, 2 landmarks, 2 museums, 2 shops, 1 viewpoint, 1 shrine or temple and 1 neighbourhood. Read the Ikebukuro guide.
