Tokyo's grand shopping street, best at its counters and old coffee houses

Ginza is where Tokyo dresses up. Department stores and flagship boutiques line Chuo-dori, the kabuki theatre has been the art form's main home since 1889, and you'll find some of the most exacting counters in the city here. The trick is to look past the brand facades to the old coffee houses, the stationery tower and the bars upstairs.

Ginza has 8 places on the Roam Tokyo map: 2 shops, 2 cafes, 1 landmark, 1 restaurant, 1 bar and 1 bathhouse. Read the Ginza guide.
