Oshiage Onsen Daikokuyu
Asakusa, Tokyo
Oshiage Onsen Daikokuyu is a temple-style sento with natural hot spring water, a big outdoor bath and a bath with a view of the Skytree. It's open all night, from 3pm until 10am the next morning, which makes it the place for a dawn soak in this part of town.

What the guides say about Oshiage Onsen Daikokuyu
In Asakusa, Hinodeyu has spring water and a cypress tub over 1,000 years old. Near the Skytree, Yakushiyu was redone in 2025 with Greek island murals, and Oshiage Onsen Daikokuyu stays open from 3pm until 10am the next morning. Down the river, Tsurunoyu between Asakusabashi and Kuramae is an unchanged temple-style sento on well water.

Old Tokyo's front door, best before the tour buses arrive
Asakusa gets dismissed as touristy, and at 2pm on a Saturday it is. Go at 7am instead. Senso-ji with incense drifting and almost nobody around is a different place entirely, and the backstreets west of the temple still feel like the shitamachi Tokyo that most of the city paved over decades ago.
Asakusa has 14 places on the Roam Tokyo map: 3 shrines and temples, 3 bathhouses, 2 viewpoints, 2 bars, 2 shops, 1 park or garden and 1 restaurant. Read the Asakusa guide.
